START WITH A CHANGE

This was it, we are all back from our holidays and ready to get back to reality. We recharged our batteries, created memories and got more energy so that we can cope with getting back to reality. We were also inspired by all the plans we made that could give another perspective to our daily routines. We may have just rested and emptied our heads because we know that reality is there and waiting for us.

But what kind of reality are we talking about? How do we treat our work, our relationships, ourselves? Usually September remains from our school years like a little beginning, where we make resolutions and promise ourselves that we will make the changes we need. Nevertheless, we still postpone them, because our lives move faster than we expect. In other cases, it may not be necessary to make this change immediately. And if so, how are we sure that we just have not realized it yet?

What are the signs that indicate that I need a change?

In order to figure out if the time for a small or a big change has come, we can take some time, during a walk by the beach (for the lucky ones) or in the park next to our home, or for those who need way more time in the woods or the mountains… During this time with ourselves, we can see which of the following is true and we will understand if this change needs to start today!

My daily routine

I don’t wake up in a good mood and feel tired all the time

Not all of us are the morning type of person, or some of us might require some extra time for rest. However, this may also indicate that you are tired of fighting for a better life and you are slowly giving up the fight. This is a situation you need to change!

My work seems to be more like a drudgery

You hate having to wake up to work, and you do things halfhearted. If this is a daily painful process and leads you to severe stress, then let me raise the alarm here. You may need the help of an expert, except from cases of severe fatigue or even depression. You need to start thinking that you need to make a change

My relationships with others

I’m busy with the lives of others
If you turn your attention to the lives of others, it is very likely that you are not so happy with yours or your life is not that interesting. You need to realize that you have a unique life (unless you believe in the afterlife) and face it directly and with all your attention.

I get bothered easily
You feel that the negativity surrounds you and you are quite brittle. But don’t forget, there must be something wrong with your approach… Turning the responsibility to your environment will not help you make the change!

Everyone tells me to relax because I look anxious
Certainly stress is now a part of our lives. Nevertheless, many people around you have seen clearly that you look stressed, don’t; you think it’s about time you made a change and better handle stress?

I am often jealous of those around me
Jealousy is a disguised lack of satisfaction for our own lives and has nothing to do with what others have accomplished and whether or not they deserve it. You probably need to look at things from a different perspective.

My relationship with myself

I do not accept my past or worry too much about the future
There are many things that are holding you back from your past that have a direct impact on your present. Reflect upon the things you need to accept and what still affects you and resolve that immediately. On the other hand, there is also the possibility that you live through your plans and dreams for the future. Of course this is a driving force, but if you are just dreaming and not getting to action, could this be another sign that you need a change?

I feel like there is no more space in your life
You notice that there is a constant feeling of pressure, even for minor things. This is something you impose on yourself and your body sends out a message and you leave it unread. In order to feel better the only solution seems to be a change!

And if I’m scared or I find it hard?

There is nothing more normal, in physics there is even a law of inertia of things. Try to think of the advantages hidden behind a seemingly difficult change:

  • Every change makes you more flexible and adaptable.

Why is this important? To put it in another way, the most flexible one will survive and prevail, otherwise we would still be living among dinosaurs!

  • It gives you the opportunity to experience something different.

Looking back on your life the things that stand out are the amazing things you did, the new experiences you gained and the people you met. These taught you so much more than every school or university.

  • You get out of your comfort zone

Yes, life in this zone is familiar and effortless; you just follow your routine. Did you ever wonder how you chose that routine, did you know what other options were out there? In order to be able to evaluate your mind set, your mentality and your belief system, you must find new ways to approach your life.

  • You can finally find out who you really are

Your mind expands with every transition; new neurons are created with every change you make. You can discover things about yourself, identify your boundaries and decide how you want to guide your life.

So what kind of change will you decide today to make in your life?
